Simple kite paper window art display on the window, beautifully catching the light.

Simple Silk and Kite Paper Folding Designs for Your Windows - Part 1

There's something quietly magical about folded paper on a sunlit window - the way light catches the colours, turning simple sheets into something that feels almost alive. Whether you're a seasoned crafter, a curious newcomer, or simply looking for a beautiful activity to share with your little ones, this step-by-step guide will walk you through a collection of enchanting designs, including window stars, flowers, a dragonfly, a mushroom, a tulip, and even a three-leaf clover.

Throughout this guide we've used the Mercurius Window Star Folding Kite Paper (16x16cm), though any paper from our Origami, Folding and Craft Paper collection will work beautifully. Kite Paper is slightly more durable with a gentle sheen, while Silk Tissue Paper produces something more delicate and translucent - both are beautiful, it simply depends on the mood you're creating. Alongside your chosen paper, gather a glue stick, ruler, pencil, and scissors

There are no rules here, only possibilities - experiment freely with colour combinations as you go, and for a dreamy water scene, try pairing your finished designs with our Kitpas Window Crayons.

Each design below links to a free downloadable PDF with full step-by-step instructions. Let's begin 🌟
