Ambrosius Flower Fairies from Australia

The Story of Ambrosius

Ambrosius dolls have been handmade in Transylvania, Romania, since 1996 — a collaboration between owner Katalin Poszony and a Waldorf School that led to eco-friendly felt fairy dolls inspired by flowers and fruits. All creations use sustainable materials: wool, wool felt, and wood.

Ambrosius also supports its community, employing mothers with young children, retirees, and people with disabilities in work-from-home roles, and donating part of its profits to the local Waldorf School and to educational institutions in poorer Transylvanian villages.

The flower fairies release in four seasonal collections and four skin tones, celebrating diversity across the floral and human worlds. The range also includes poseable, doll-house-scaled family dolls — grandparents, parents, children, and babies. Every doll takes many hours to make and, being handmade, is one of a kind — suited to small world play, nature tables, or decorations.
