Children love watching and listening, as the balls cascade down the leaves of the Marble Tree. Painted with plant-based colours, the grain and warmth of the wood coming through, the Grunspecht Marble Tree calms the senses and is mesmerising to watch.
Every design aspect of the Grunspecht Marble Tree is intentional. The glass marbles; the type of wood used (Birch and Maple); the spacing between the petals; the number of petals; the length of the trunk; and even the plant-based dyes; all contribute to the final melody.
The Grunspecht Small Marble Tree comes with glass marbles. Experimenting with different-sized marbles and wooden balls will alter the sound, each producing a different melody, and is a fun activity to incorporate into learning (or just for the pure joy and fun of it!).
Set the balls in motion one at a time, or 'play' them all together. As they wind down the petals, watch and listen, and the tree will sing its beautiful melody.
The effect of the rhythmical melody is harmonising and calming to the senses and the movement of the marbles is mesmerising to watch. Children play for hours as they become immersed, watching and listening, both therapeutic and fun.

Grunspecht Musical Marble Trees are award-winning, rainbow-coloured, musical marble trees, trademarked Klangbaum®. Available in four sizes, they are beautiful to look at, fun to play with and a true sensory experience.
There are four sizes, each with thirty rainbow leaves:
• Small 36cm: comes with six clear glass marbles, perfect for table-top play
• Medium 48cm: comes with six coloured glass marbles, easy to move for on-the-go play
• Large 72cm: our best seller, comes with six coloured glass marbles and is great for collaborative play
• Giant 150cm: comes with five large wooden balls and a deep, warm sound, a favourite for classrooms and child care settings. It arrives flat-packed and requires assembly.
The recommended age is 3+ years. The small marbles are a choking hazard, and the leaves aren’t built to withstand excess force or pressure. If a tree topples or a leaf breaks, it could become jagged and hazardous for younger children. Younger children will love watching and listening to the marbles roll down the tree, but strict adult supervision is essential at all times for children under three.
Release a marble at the top of the tree and watch it roll down, skipping from one rainbow leaf to the next. Each leaf makes a different sound, creating a soothing melody that’s wonderful for calm and mindfulness. Send marbles down one at a time or all together: the more you add, the more interesting the sound becomes. Children can also experiment with marbles and balls of different sizes and materials to create different sound effects.
Watch the video above to hear the melodies, including the difference between adding one marble at a time and dropping several in at once. Customers describe the sound as “warm, musical tones”, “soothing”, “calming to the senses” and “a bit like wooden wind chimes tinkling in the breeze”. No two melodies are the same, and it’s something you simply must experience for yourself!
Look for the Klangbaum® trademark on the product. Every genuine Grunspecht Musical Marble Tree is made by Grunspecht and carries the Klangbaum® name. Authentic trees are crafted to a high standard, with rainbow-coloured leaves that increase in size from the top of the tree to the bottom, each producing its own warm, musical sound. Every Grunspecht tree we sell is made with quality materials and beautiful craftsmanship. If you are ever unsure, please contact us and our team will be happy to help.

I love how beautiful this little musical tree is, and the sounds it makes are so calming and therapeutic. I love that you get the same play from this as you do from the bigger trees.
I do wish it didn't come with clear marbles, as they can be a bit hard to find on the floor, but the grimms small wooden marbles also work quite well on this as well.
Great quality and beautiful. A great open ended addition to the toy box.
