Grimm's Small Rainbow Wooden Balls from Oskar's Wooden Ark are the perfect size for a variety of marble runs. They bridge the gap between our Grimm's Large Wooden Balls and the Grimm's Small Wooden Marbles.

Combined with the new Grimm's Sorting Boards, they are a wonderful 3-D matching puzzle and sorting game for even the littlest ones. With our Grimm's Building Rings, the balls can grow up into the sky as a balance game.

An overview of the different Marble and Ball Runs available can be found in our blog post The Ultimate Marble Run Play Guide.

NOTE: The balls do not come with the cotton bag shown in the first product photo. They come in an environmentally friendly paper bag.

Each piece is designed with simple forms, soft colours and tactile wooden textures that invite children to build, stack and imagine freely. Guided by Waldorf and Montessori principles, Grimm’s toys encourage exploration, problem-solving and imaginative thinking without limits or instructions.

Made from sustainably sourced alder, beech, lime and maple wood, every toy is carefully finished using safe, non-toxic colour stains. Built to last for generations, Grimm’s supports fine motor development, sensory learning and creative confidence through beautifully crafted wooden play.

Love these balls!

It was our first set of balls which we decided we finally needed to help with our ball runs at home.

They feel amazing and the colours are so vibrant!

Love!!!

Grimm’s Small Rainbow Balls are the perfect accompaniment to the Rainbow Sorting Board for an alternative to colour matching!! They are a great size for our daughter (almost 2yo)! We are looking forward to using them in many new activities!!

So amazing!

The perfect size for my 2.5 year old son. He is loving using them with his marble tree and the sorting board. They are beautiful and bright and the texture is beautiful.

Absolutely love these

Absolutely love these. They're a perfect size and weight for little hands to play with and explore. We mainly use them with Grunspecht Singing Tree and they make such a beautiful sound. Baby is transfixed every time 😍

Just amazing. So smooth and they make the most amazing sounds.

1 year old loves

My one year old and 3 year old love these rainbow balls along with the sorting board. They both love placing the balls into the board, and my 3 year old matches the colours. They are used constantly for imaginative play too so there are no limits to their use. Always handy to have.

Grimms small rainbow balls

Perfectly sized for my 2.5yo to use with ball runs and large marble tree. Also pairs perfectly with the sorting board, he loves putting them back in the right colours and makes packing up so much easier.

Perfect!

These balls are amazing!
We have the large balls and I was hoping for some smaller ones, but not quite as small as the marbles - these are the perfect size for little hands without being too little 😊
