Guided by Rudolf Steiner’s anthroposophical philosophy, Bikeho’s handcrafted wooden toys celebrate human potential through meaningful play, blending natural materials with thoughtful, human-centred craftsmanship.
Founded as a social-therapeutic and anthroposophical community in 1953 in Northern Germany, Bikeho® has been lovingly creating handcrafted Waldorf wooden toys for over seventy years. Guided by Rudolf Steiner’s philosophy, the brand celebrates childhood through meaningful, imaginative play. Each piece is crafted from timber sourced through sustainable forestry, designed to last generations while nurturing creativity, curiosity, and a deep connection to the natural world.
Handmade in a supportive community, bikeho® proudly champions inclusive craftsmanship, empowering makers of all abilities. Each of their all-natural pieces is designed to spark imagination and engage the senses and motor skills through open-ended building and small-world play, inviting children into rich, creative discovery.
Birkenhof, the makers of bikeho® wooden toys, is a charitable, independent organisation and a proud member of leading associations supporting social care and anthroposophical work.
we love our bikeho ! when it arrived I was surprised in a good way about their size and sturdiness! The pieces are all so individual and beautiful and each has its own beautiful grain and shows off any wood knots. The texture of the dimpled carve outs is amazing and feels so beautiful and tactile and looks incredible in the light. These pieces work so well with our ostheimer and we will be sure to add more !
Oskar's Wooden Ark acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the Land and Country on which we work. We pay our respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, their Ancestors, and Elders past and present, whose connection to this land continues to nurture it, as it has for generations.
