Stepping stones and balance boards are a direct physical encounter with weight distribution, centre of gravity, and geometric form - STEM concepts made tangible through balance, stacking, and full-body challenge. In group settings, they become collaborative engineering problems: how do we build a course everyone can cross? How high before it tips?

Exploring, measuring, joining, and testing materials and form, is just engineering by another name. The satisfaction of a finished, functional object or a successful manoeuvre is deeply motivating.

With different textures and materials we can introduce physics: draping, tensioning, weighting, and balancing, inviting spatial thinking and experimentation.
