Timeless Wooden Toys For Open Ended Play & Learning
Grimm’s Wooden Toys are crafted in Germany by a family-owned company dedicated to open-ended play, natural materials and timeless design. Since 1978, they have created sustainably made wooden toys that support creativity, learning and meaningful everyday moments for children and adults alike.
Each piece is designed with simple forms, soft colours and tactile wooden textures that invite children to build, stack and imagine freely. Guided by Waldorf and Montessori principles, Grimm’s toys encourage exploration, problem-solving and imaginative thinking without limits or instructions.
Made from sustainably sourced alder, beech, lime and maple wood, every toy is carefully finished using safe, non-toxic colour stains. Built to last for generations, Grimm’s supports fine motor development, sensory learning and creative confidence through beautifully crafted wooden play.

So versatile for a pull along toy. My girl isn’t even walking yet but enjoys taking apart and banging the turtle shell blocks together. We stack them with other Grimms pieces for her to knock down. We put wooden balls in the ‘empty’ turtle and watch them roll around. She has just discovered that she can pull the string. And my husband even enjoys the puzzle of putting the pieces back together again!
When she starts moving around more I can see her pulling the turtle around, stacking the unusual shaped blocks herself and even putting the pieces back together.
It’s also a beautiful piece I plan to hold onto long after she loses interest.
Expensive, but worth it for the quality and endless play options.
Such a beautiful item. my daughter, 15 months, loves pulling out the puzzle and putting other things in the turtle to drag around. the contrast between the natural wood of the turtle and the colours of the shell pieces are exquisite. Another great Grimms creation.
