Lubulona

Lubulona from Oskar's Wooden Ark in Australia
Lubulona was founded by the German-Spanish couple Tina and Jordi in Barcelona, Spain, in 2017. They created their brand name “Lu-bu-lona” by merging together parts of the names of their home cities: Jordi lives in Barcelona (Spain) and Tina lived in Ludwigsburg (Germany) before moving to Spain. Tina is the creative mastermind of the brand. She designs and develops the toys and can often be found with a paint brush in her hand turning a wooden object into a colourful toy. Tina also looks after all of Lubulona’s social media channels while Jordi is in charge of the business side of the company taking care of the communication with suppliers, distributors and stockists. When time allows you can also find him in the workshop sanding, varnishing and painting wooden toys.

Lubulona’s philosophy is to create modern, minimalistic and colourful wooden toys for children which inspire both boys and girls to explore, build and play with. Tina and Jordi are parents of two boys but don’t believe in gender-specificity that certain toys have been labelled with. In their eyes, children should be given a choice of a variety of toys which are educational and promote different skill sets but also foster imagination and creativity. Lubulona’s wooden toys work together beautifully and allow children to become little architects by creating and building a fun wooden toy city. The pieces of Lubulona’s first product “Lubu Town” let children practise fine motor skills, spatial awareness, construction skills and imaginative play.

All of Lubulona’s toys are manufactured entirely in Europe from high quality beech wood and comply with European toy safety standards, only using paints and glues which are EN71 certified and therefore safe to be used for toys. In order to protect the environment Lubulona only uses environmentally friendly packaging such as cardboard boxes and fabric bags.
