Current Job Opportunities - Social Media Coordinator & Content Creator
Part-Time | min. 20–25 hours | Gepps Cross, Adelaide
We’re looking for a creative, organised and highly motivated person to join our team and help shape how Oskar’s Wooden Ark, Wooden Playroom and Mercurius Australia show up across social media.
This is a hands-on role for someone who genuinely enjoys creating content – from developing ideas and filming Reels to writing captions, building campaigns and engaging with our online community.
Creativity is important, but so are work ethic, initiative and the willingness to get involved. We’re a growing family-owned business and looking for someone who brings a can-do attitude, takes ownership of their work and is happy to jump in wherever needed.
You’ll work closely with our Marketing, Product, Customer Service and Operations teams to bring our products, brands and stories to life.
THE ROLE
Your day-to-day work will include:
- Developing and implementing social media strategies across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and Pinterest
- Planning, filming, editing and scheduling engaging content including Reels, Stories, carousels, tutorials, behind-the-scenes content and product showcases
- Being comfortable appearing on camera when required to help tell stories, showcase products and connect authentically with our community
- Managing our social media content calendar and aligning content with product launches, campaigns and seasonal priorities
- Creating visual assets and graphics using Canva
- Writing engaging captions and other social media content
- Engaging with our online community through comments, messages and conversations
- Supporting our Customer Service team by helping respond to and coordinate customer enquiries received through social media
- Coordinating product send-outs and communication with content creators, influencers and brand partners
- Reviewing social media performance, analytics and insights to understand what works and help shape future content
- Working closely with the wider team around new products, launches, campaigns and other business priorities
- Helping across the business when required – we’re a collaborative team and everyone contributes
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for someone who combines creativity with a strong work ethic and a practical, hands-on approach.
You’ll be someone who:
- Has a natural eye for engaging social media content and visual storytelling
- Enjoys creating and editing short-form video content
- Can turn an idea, product or moment into content that feels authentic and engaging
- Writes naturally and confidently for social media
- Is organised and capable of managing content calendars, deadlines and multiple priorities
- Has strong attention to detail
- Understands that great social media involves both creativity and consistency
- Is comfortable communicating with customers and our wider online community
- Is proactive and doesn't always wait to be told what needs doing
- Has a strong work ethic, a can-do attitude and is willing to jump in wherever needed
- Is practical, dependable and ready to work hard as part of a team
- Is comfortable working across different computer systems, social platforms and technology
- Is keen to learn, develop and take on greater responsibility over time
Previous experience managing social media or creating content for a brand or business is highly desirable. However, we are also open to someone earlier in their career who can demonstrate genuine creative ability, initiative, strong judgement and a willingness to learn.
An interest in beautiful products, childhood, play, education or the Waldorf and Montessori space would be an advantage.
