Wet-on-Wet Watercolour Painting
Wet on Wet Painting is a watercolour technique that allows the artist to breath, producing a wonderful calming and balancing effect for both young and old!
Using diluted Stockmar Watercolour Aquarelle Paints on wet paper, the soul moods of the colours and the magic of colours blending can be experienced. Colours spontaneously blend and produce natural forms on the paper.
When used to introduce children to colours and painting, only one or two colours are initially used, usually Yellow and Blue. Limiting the colours allows each colour to be fully experienced, with a deep soul understanding of each colour to develop.
As Yellow and Blue meet, the magic of green is experienced, with Red and Green the magic of grey and so on. With only three primary colours, the full magic of the colour wheel comes alive.
For the young child, before introducing the hues of warm and cool tones, Stockmar has developed three very special primary colours - the Stockmar Circle Colours. These allow the young child to fully work with the colours, without prejudice by warm or cool nuances. As a child's mood of soul develops, around the 8th or 9th year, the full range of colour tones are then introduced.
