CREATE: Australian Native Flowers - Process Art
Jess @learnandbloom | January 26, 2022
Visual prompts are a fun way to inspire little artists and get creative juices flowing. We searched online for Australian Native flowers and chose to recreate the Golden Wattle, Bottlebrush and Blue Flax Lily. We used various materials for the artwork, including cotton tips, pom-poms and cardboard. In this mixed media process art, children can learn new techniques while exploring how they can use different materials to paint.
Please don’t forget to share your process art with us on Instagram or Facebook, tagging @oskarswoodenark and using the hashtag #oskarslittleartists.
You will need:
• Stockmar Watercolour Paint Set
• Stockmar Crayons
• Paint
• Materials to paint (eg cotton tips, pom poms, cardboard)
Step 1:
Have a visual prompt! We looked up Australian Native Flowers and painted a background using Stockmar Watercolours.
Step 2:
Use a green Stockmar Crayon to draw the leaves and stems.
Step 3:
Use various materials to paint the flowers! We used a sturdy piece of cardboard to stamp red paint for the bottlebrush and pom poms for the Golden Wattle. To finish off the picture, add some more detail using the Stockmar Crayons.
