Little Scientists Australia is a not-for-profit initiative funded by the Australian Government, supporting early childhood educators to embed inquiry-based STEM learning through professional development and practical teaching strategies. Now in its fifth year, the Early STEM Education Awards recognise both services and individual educators championing STEM excellence for children aged 0-8 years.

Nominations open: 1 March 2026 Close: 31 May 2026

Services nominate by co-developing an inquiry-based STEM project with children, while individual educators can be peer-nominated for their passion and leadership. Winners receive national recognition, promotional opportunities, and prizes—with KAPLA construction sets forming part of both the major prize and state prizes, contributed by Oskar's Wooden Ark.
