CREATE: Waldorf Rainbow Window Stars
Kate Kwijas | September 29, 2021
This week, Kate and her boys are showing us how to create Rainbow Waldorf Stars.
Brighten up your play space, while making something beautiful, strengthening muscles in little hands and taking some time to promote mindfulness with this Waldorf activity.
So, what is mindfulness? It simply means focusing your attention on something, slowing down and not thinking about anything else in that moment. Sitting in a quiet space with your little learner and creating Waldorf Stars provides the perfect opportunity to connect with your child whilst practicing and demonstrating mindfulness.
Please don’t forget to share your Rainbow Stars with us on Instagram or Facebook, tagging @oskarswoodenark and using the hashtag #oskarslittleartists. Let's not forget to slow down every now and then and to enjoy the moment!

You will need:
• A book that gives you hope
• Waxed Kite Paper or Japanese Silk Tissue Paper
• Glue
Step 1:
Sit down together and read a book that gives you hope.
We read Rain Before Rainbows. Talk about the story:
What did you like? How did it make you feel? What do you think might happen next? What are you grateful for?

Step 2:
Follow our tutorial (watch the video above)to learn how to create Rainbow Waldorf Stars using just glue and kite paper.
Even the youngest learners can enjoy this activity alongside you.
Why not have them pat the paper down as you fold?
Step 3:
Display your beautiful stars and as you look at them each day, be reminded that there is hope, joy and love.
“Cover me in sunshine.
Shower me with good times.
Tell me that the world’s been spinning since the beginning and everything will be alight. Cover me in sunshine”
