Mader Kreiselmanufaktur was founded in 1991 by Klaus Mader, a very skilled carpenter with a love for handcrafted wooden toys. He has a small but mighty workshop found in the foothills of the Austrian Alps which hand makes not only traditional spinning tops but also skipping ropes, kaleidoscopes and yo-yos. Each spinning top is painstakingly made by hand, often by Klaus himself, out of locally sourced wood with some tops requiring up to 20 different stages such as wood turning, burning, embossing, carving, brushing, painting and varnishing. One can’t help but admire the attention to detail in every creation.

His toys are easily recognised as they all have a burned in stripe in the middle, beautifully chosen colours and unparalleled attention to detail. You can’t help but pick one up and give it a twirl then watch mesmerised as it spins and falls.

Adorable and fun

Spins really well, basically a miniature version of the regular ones. My kids love tiny things and always want to play with it.

A gorgeous little spinner

I adore this top! I bought a selection in the latest Mader release and while they're all beautiful I think this is my favourite. The level of detail in such a tiny top is incredible. It spins for far longer than I would've expected given how small and light it is It's also really good for fine motor skills for my daughter as it's easy to spin but obviously quite small so takes some fine movements to achieve. I love the challenge of trying to put the glass container over the top of it and keep it spinning!

Amazing toy

My daughter loves the Mader spinning top so much that she plays them everyday ! I collected three for her already and will keep collecting .
Ps, my baby one loves it as Mader got vivid colour , so she loves looking at it while her sister playing.
