Grapat Weekly Calendar 7 Moons

The Grapat Weekly Calendar 7 Moons from Oskar'S Wooden Ark are to represent each day of the week and helps children to understand the cycle with a different colour Nin for each day. The Nins can also encourage hand-eye coordination as they can place them in and out of their cups or stand them on top the cup like a pedestal or be used in creative play as they are designed with the Waldorf philosophy in mind. This set also can help young children learn colours and numbers as they sort and match the coloured Nins to their cups.

The Grapat Weekly Calendar 7 Moons includes 7 acorn Nins, 7 cups and a Wooden Dish.

Recommended age 3+ years

Casiana and Jordi, the founders of Grapat Wooden Toys are from a small town in the Pyrenean mountains of Catalunya who were inspired by how their daughter played when given the freedom to play with her natural every day surroundings. They believe that when the toy is somewhat seemingly simplistic and given without instructions, it encourages children to develop a more adventurous and complex activity with it.

Grapat toys are all handmade with love from almost all locally sourced materials and subject to nature making every piece unique. Every part of each toy has been considered from the dimensions of the toy, to the shape or form, the thickness of the wood and the colour.

Perfect for teaching my toddler the days of the week

As a homeschooling mum, it’s always great when I find something versatile. This set works fantastic as both a toy and educational resource.

As with all Grapat products, the finish and colour of the pieces is phenomenal, a sensory pleasure to the hands and ears, and is enjoyed by a myriad of ages; my two sons, 4 and 16 months, play with them for solo play and also cooperatively.

The colours work great as a tool to help my eldest structure his week, eagerly looking forward to taking out the days each morning - the fact that they’re little peg dolls seems to help him individualise each day and assign personalities to them, and the colours are much easier for him to remember rather than an abstract, like Monday or Tuesday. The fact that it is both visual and tactile also helps solidify the days of week as something tangible.

I recommend this set both for play and to help children learn days of the week, I can see this being useful in their later years when we can also begin doing schedules and colour coordinate them.

Beautiful pieces

These Nins are beautiful to look at and feel. The colours are vibrant and the wood feels lovely to touch. Big enough to not appear to be a choking hazard either. All are one piece so you don't have to worry about the "hats" coming off.
Oskars Wooden Ark send with minimal packaging and as plastic free as possible. Grapat had the Nins packaged in a plastic bag in the box, but that was only one bag.

Grapat toys are amazing!

I can truly say my 19 month old twins boy/girl love these!! They play with them all the time or even just carry them around in their hands! Such a high quality product too!

Love these!

Both my kids love this toy. I knew they would! My 4 year old has so far today made me ‘cups of tea’ using it, and my 22 month old loves trying to colour match and placing the figures in the cups. I can already see that this will get lots of use. I purchased so my daughter will be able to identify the days of the week with starting school next year and I think it will work really well!

A New Family Tradition

I've been looking to create some special traditions for our young family. This piece is the perfect starting point and gives us an enjoyable way to begin and end each day. Our 2.5 year old loves to "wake up" the nin of the day each morning and "put to beddies" in the evening. I am amazed at how quickly he has also learnt the colours and associates them with regular activities throughout our week. The quality of each piece could not be better - beautiful warm and even colours, smooth, hand-sanded finishes. So pleased with my choice!

Great resource! Well loved

My 2.5 yo daughter loves saying good morning and good night to each person and is asking what day of the week it is and trying to guess what colour will come next. A great resource for helping young children understand the circular pattern of the days of the week.

Well used

A versatile item with good colour variety. We are not currently using it as a calendar but my little one loves putting the nins in and out of the cups. The cups also get used for filling/scooping activities.

Gorgeous colours

My son loves stacking and posting so this set is perfect for him. And it's something that will grow with him as we can use it as a perpetual weekly calendar when he is older

Love them

This is such a great learning tool and play piece. Miss 4 is already reciting the days and coordinating the colours. She also loves to know what activity falls on each day. Also great for little hands.
Super quick delivery and loved Oskars minimal waste packaging. Really compliments what we are trying to achieve by buying aireloom quality toys.

I was so happy with this. The quality is gorgeous and they are a decent size too. The colours are vibrant yet soft, allowing the wood grain to show through. This is my first Grapat purchase (previous a Grimms fan), and I will definitely buy their other products. Fast delivery and eco consciously packed as well
