CREATE: Spring Nature-Print Ornaments
August 25, 2021
This week, Jess (@learnandbloom) is showing us how to make decorative Spring ornaments out of air-dry clay and nature loose parts. A very simple craft activity with stunning results. You can also try out other objects to create imprints in the air-dry clay like shells, knitwear or toys. It is up to your imagination. Let's get busy making some beautiful decorations for the home or garden!
(Hint: These pretty ornaments look great on the Christmas tree as well.)
Please don’t forget to share your Spring Ornaments with us on Instagram or Facebook, tagging @oskarswoodenark and using the hashtag #oskarslittleartists. Let's celebrate the arrival of Spring!

You will need:
• Permanent marker
• Nature loose parts
• Air-dry clay
• Stockmar water colour palette
• Twine
Step 1:
Go on a nature hunt and collect interesting twigs, leaves and flowers.
Pinch a small piece of air-dry clay and roll it into a ball.

Step 2:
Press the clay ball down onto the leaves or flowers.
Step 3:
Carefully peel away the leaves or flowers.

Step 4:
Make a hole at the top of your circle if you’d like to hang your ornament.
Step 5:
Let the clay dry. This may take a couple of days.

Step 6:
Paint the clay ornaments with Stockmar watercolour paints.
Step 7:
Use twine to hang up your nature clay ornaments. Why not decorate a tree or a few loose branches in celebration of Spring?
